The Delft Vase

from $250.00

The Delft Vase. Still Life 2025.

A still life of wild elegance, bold yet romantic, grounded in old-world charm.

Floral theatre, an extravagant dance of spring’s most opulent blooms, this arrangement rises up from a collection of antique Delft vases, each one reflecting a legacy of hand painted elegance. Glowing tulips in yellow and pink freshly picked from the garden. ‘Cabanna’ parrot tulips with ruffled petals sit alongside the speckled exotic cream and bronze orchids from our glasshouse. Sky high tall poppies, creamy anemones, the petals look hand painted with pink brush stokes, while golden daffodils and dusky toned double hellebores add depth and texture. Spires of campanula and blue Scilla Peruviana echo the vase’s deep cobalt hue adding storytelling and drama. Delicate trusses of Pieris Japonica hang like strings of porcelain bells, lending an ethereal touch. And through it all, Queen Anne’s lace softens the extravagance—a breath of quiet amidst the floral still life.

Inspired by the Dutch Masters floral paintings but reimagined through a contemporary lens.

The Print and the Paper

Printing: Giclée Archival Inkjet Print

Paper: Fine Art Etching Cotton Rag 330gsm Matte

Your artwork will be printed on premium Fine Art Etching Cotton rag paper, this is museum quality for highest age resistance. It will be rolled in a tube and shipped directly to you from the printers and include a signed certificate of authentication. Please ask your framer to attach this to the back of the frame. All prints come unframed with a 10mm white handling border. The paper gives muted blacks an even colour reproduction, and excellent detail. The surface has minimal texture with a chalky smooth cotton feel. It has a delicate surface so we recommend extra care when handling, I strongly advise not opening the tube but give directly to your framer to handle, they will use special gloves to avoid finger prints and be working in a space that protects the paper. Your artwork is an investment and very precious so I recommend asking your framer to use a protective non-reflective artglass with a UV filter, this will greatly reduce any potential fading. I recommend either UV70 or museum glass.
