Emmanuelle
Emmanuelle. Still Life 2025.
There are flowers that carry time in their petals, old fashioned roses, cupped and ruffled, picked from our garden beds, the scent filling the studio, heady and nostalgic. Glorious impossible to resist peonies purchased from a local market, grown in the South Island, overblown sensual blooms softening the arrangement, filling it with their unapologetic romance. Bruised pinks, faded mauves, blush pink, the delicate sweetest yellows and ivory, the softness of old lace, the colour is everything, calming, softness redefined.
Inspired by the Dutch Masters floral paintings but reimagined through a contemporary lens.

The Print and the Paper
Printing: Giclée Archival Inkjet Print
Paper: Fine Art Etching Cotton Rag 330gsm Matte
Your artwork will be printed on premium Fine Art Etching Cotton Rag 330gsm matte paper, this is museum quality for highest age resistance. It will be rolled in a tube and shipped directly to you from the printers and include a signed certificate of authentication. Please ask your framer to attach this to the back of the frame. All prints come unframed with a 10mm white handling border. It has a delicate surface so we recommend extra care when handling. As much as I understand the desire to open your parcel as soon as you have received it, I strongly advise not opening the tube but give directly to your framer to handle, they will use special gloves to avoid finger prints and be working in a space that protects the paper. Your artwork is an investment and very precious so I recommend asking your framer to use a protective non-reflective artglass with a UV filter, this will greatly reduce any potential fading. I recommend either UV70 or museum glass.
