Fantasia

from $250.00

The garden hums with life as I wander, scissors in hand, gathering flowers. I’m looking for a few unusual blooms to add to the beautiful heirloom roses I have just brought in from the garden. My favourite vase, an art nouveau treasure is on the table ready. The intention is to create the unexpected, a composition both wild and refined. Heady fragrant David Austin roses, a few delicate stems of sweet peas, zinnias and dahlias fill my basket. Bees follow me into the studio as I create this joyful lush arrangement, a celebration of what the garden offers, crab apples, fennel, scabiosa, coreopsis, silent and a pineapple lily. The gelato colour palette transports me to a holiday in Italy, the seaside villages of Cinque Terre, the sun warming our skin as we gazed out towards the cliff edges dotted with pastel buildings, the scent of salt and citrus in the air.

Inspired by the Dutch Masters floral paintings but reimagined through a contemporary lens. Arranged and Photographed by Laura

The Print and the Paper

Printing: Giclée Archival Inkjet Print

Paper: Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308 gsm Etching Finish

Hahnemühle Photo Rag is one of the world’s most popular papers and the valued all-rounder for high-quality FineArt inkjet printing. The white cotton artist’s paper, with its characteristic, wonderfully soft feel, boasts a lightly defined felt structure, lending each artwork a three-dimensional appearance and impressive pictorial depth. Combined with the matt premium inkjet coating, this paper produces outstanding prints that feature brilliant colours, deep blacks, striking contrasts and perfect reproduction of detail. This acid- and lignin-free classic meets the most exacting requirements for age resistance and is specially designed for FineArt applications., this is museum quality for highest age resistance. It will be rolled in a tube and shipped directly to you from the printers and include a signed certificate of authentication. Please ask your framer to attach this to the back of the frame. All prints come unframed with a 10mm white handling border. It has a delicate surface so we recommend extra care when handling. As much as I understand the desire to open your parcel as soon as you have received it, I strongly advise not opening the tube but give directly to your framer to handle, they will use special gloves to avoid finger prints and be working in a space that protects the paper. Your artwork is an investment and very precious so I recommend asking your framer to use a protective non-reflective artglass with a UV filter, this will greatly reduce any potential fading. I recommend either UV70 or museum glass.
